Reconciliation Action Plan
The Department of the Registrar, embraces the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and is committed to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We acknowledge that more needs to be done to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people enjoy the same advantages and opportunities as other Australians. We endorse the vision of a united Australia which values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples heritage, culture and provides justice and equity for all Australians.
Our RAP 2013-2017 is the Department’s second RAP, and continues our formal contribution to encouraging respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. It does this by identifying actions, timelines, responsibilities and targets in three areas - Relationships, Respect and Opportunities.
