Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

The Department of the Registrar, Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission (the Department) is committed to ensuring that people with disability have equal access to our services and facilities.

What is a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan?

Under the Disability Services Act 1993 (the DS Act), public agencies and authorities are required to develop and implement Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs).

The purpose of a DAIP is to ensure that people with disability can access services, facilities, buildings, information and employment provided by public agencies and authorities in Western Australia, in a way that facilitates increased independence, opportunities and inclusion within the community.

Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2013 – 2018

The Department’s current DAIP is for the period of 2013 – 2018. This Plan provides the framework within which the Department seeks to create a welcoming and positive environment for people with disability, their families and their carers.

In 2013, amendments to the DS Act resulted in the incorporation of a DAIP Outcome 7.
The Department’s Outcome 7 strategies can be accessed as an addendum to our current DAIP.
